Private Rating

*The following breakdown explains the minimum cost associated with obtaining a Private Pilot Airplane rating, in our Cessna 172.

 

A Single Engine Airplane Private Pilot rating consists of a minimum of 40 hours of flight training plus books, a FAA written exam and a practical test. Estimated total costs are as follows:

$1,400 10 hours of solo flight

$400 20 hours Ground Instruction

$300 Books and study material

$150 Knowledge exam

$400 Examiners' fee for practical test

$140/hr. Aircraft rental for practical test

Instrument Rating

*The following breakdown explains the minimum cost associated with obtaining a Single Engine Airplane - Instrument rating, in our Cessna 172.

 

A Single Engine Airplane - Instrument rating consists of a minimum of 40 hours of simulated instrument flight, which includes 15 hours of flight training, plus books, a FAA written exam and a practical test. Estimated total costs are as follows:

 

$2,700 15 hours of flight instruction

$3,500 25 hours of simulated instrument flight

$400 20 hours Ground Instruction

$100 Books and study material

$150 Knowledge exam

$450 Examiners' fee for practical test

$140/hr. Aircraft rental for practical test
